Welcome to Making Connections, LLC, Speech and Language Therapy

We are committed to cultivating trusting and collaborative relationships with clients through effective and individualized therapy for clients of all ages.

Through positive and clear communication, clients will be empowered with the tools necessary to carry over therapy in the home environment. Using a combination of play-based and traditional therapy styles, we target developmentally appropriate goals. We believe everyone learns best when they are engaged in fun and motivating interactions, and build therapy into real-world activities.

We collaborate with other professionals to ensure we are treating the whole person.

Together, we will advance your and your child's abilities.

Hello! I am Heather Dodd, an experienced and passionate speech-language pathologist.

For over 18 years, I have been supporting the communication of children and adults of all ages in a variety of settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, preschools, elementary, middle, and high schools, and most recently early intervention. I have lived and worked in Germany, Washington, and Missouri. My experience and continuing education allow me to incorporate proven strategies and evidence-based approaches in treating speech-language delays and disorders, feeding/swallowing, tethered oral tissues (TOTs) and orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs).

As a mother of two, now 13 and 10, I have a been down the long and challenging road of finding the right providers and resources as my children have OMDs. I myself also have OMDs! My personal experience gives me the drive and determination to care for families and individuals so they don't have the same experiences and challenges as I did. I strive to educate my community so they have early intervention and a positive experience.

I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and spending time with my family.”
